Meet your surgeon
Dr. Johnson’s approach is straightforward: an accurate diagnosis first, the least invasive option that will actually work second, and surgery only when it is the right answer.

President, OrthoWest
Techniques chosen to disrupt less tissue, ease recovery and, where appropriate, let patients go home the same day.
Patients consistently describe him sitting down, walking through the imaging on screen, and explaining the options in plain language.
As part of OrthoWest, your care connects to in-house imaging, physical therapy and pain management without starting over somewhere else.

David Barksdale
“Dr Johnson is an incredible surgeon, and he is a very caring person.”
Having back surgery to me is a very stressful procedure and Dr Johnson really put me at ease and made it a very non stressful experience, and the whole surgery and afterwards care was absolutely first class.
Heather Joyce
“After many years of pursuing holistic spinal injury treatment, I finally accepted that I needed surgery.”
I met with several highly qualified surgeons in the 200 mile radius and chose Dr. Johnson. All of my pre-prepared questions and concerns were addressed thoroughly and without any rush.
Lora Lundberg Schultz
“I have been a patient of Dr Bryce Johnson’s for years. He worked me into his very busy schedule and quickly identified my issue after an in-house exam.”
He gave me a PT referral and a referral for pain management. I only refer a doctor when I personally have had an excellent experience.
What Dr. Johnson treats
Cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine conditions, in patients of every age.
How a visit works
Step one
No appointment needed. Walk in to the office nearest you during clinic hours, or request a time online if you prefer.
Step two
You are examined in person, your imaging is reviewed with you on the screen, and you get a straight answer about what is going on.
Step three
You go home knowing your options in order — what to try first, what to try next, and what surgery would involve if it ever came to that.

No. You can walk in during clinic hours, Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. You can also request a time online if you would rather plan ahead.
Not always. Many PPO plans let you schedule directly. Some HMO plans do require a referral — text the office and we will check your plan with you before you come in.
A photo ID, your insurance card, a list of your medications, and any imaging you have already had — X-rays, MRI or CT on a disc or through a patient portal.
Most PPO and HMO plans and Medicare. If you are unsure about your plan, text the office and we will verify your coverage before your visit.
Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room for sudden severe pain, loss of strength or numbness, or loss of bladder or bowel control. Those need emergency evaluation, not an office visit.
